Nothing quenches your summer thirst better than an ice, cold Aguas Frescas. Aguas Frescas translates to "Fresh Water" that is infused with fruit or rice. These drinks are my go to at any Mexican Restaurant. In fact, I judge the authenticity of a Mexican Restaurant based on their availability of Aguas Frescas beverages along with the quality of the drink. Agua de Sandia is PERFECT for hot days, barbecues, and any outdoor party. It is one of the best summer drinks for children and adults. This recipe is non-alcoholic. If you want to jazz it up for the adults, add some vodka to your liking!
This recipe is dedicated to Tabetha for forcing, I mean, reminding me to share :)

Prep Time: 10 mins
Ingredients:
- Watermelon - 10 cups, cubed (seedless)
- Water - 3 cups
- Sugar - 1/4 to 1/2 cup
- Add all the ingredients into the blender and puree thoroughly.
- Pour the mixture into a fine mesh strainer and use a spatula to help push the liquid through, leaving behind the pulp. Throw out the pulp.
- Pour the juice into a pitcher and chill. Or serve immediately over ice.
- DONE!!
- This will keep in the refrigerator overnight. I would not recommend storing it for more than a day. While it is okay to store longer, the freshness is lost and the watermelon flavor starts to change.
- If you choose to store overnight, you will notice the mixture starts to separate with sediments sinking to the bottom of your pitcher. Just give it a quick stir.
- You don't have to strain the juice if you want your drink a little thicker. But it will separate quicker and will need to be stirred more often. Straining the juice produces a cleaner liquid and prettier presentation.
- 10 cups of watermelon is about the size of a whole, small, round watermelon. This is about 7-9 inches in diameter. You don't have to be so precise. How you cube your watermelon also impacts the # of cups you get so feel free to play around with the recipe. Gradually add sugar to your liking. Add water to your liking. Just start with less and add more!
- I like to use both ice and chilled cubes of watermelon when serving :)
